Underfloor Heating FAQs
Can you have underfloor heating in a wetroom?
Yes. Electric underfloor heating can be used with our wetroom systems. Our wetroom kits are compatible with electric underfloor heating systems up to a maximum output of 200W/m².
Can electric underfloor heating go inside the shower area?
Yes, with a suitable wetroom system and installation method. The heating can be extended onto certain wetroom trays, although compatibility depends on the tray, drain and floor build-up being used.
What size underfloor heating mat do I need?
Measure the floor area to be heated, excluding permanent furniture and areas where heating will not be installed. Select a mat size that fits within the available heated area.
Can I use more than one heating mat?
Yes. Multiple mats can be used to cover larger floor areas, subject to the electrical load and thermostat requirements.
Should I use tile backer board under underfloor heating?
We recommend tile backer board beneath electric underfloor heating where appropriate. Its thermal properties help reduce downward heat loss, improve warm-up times and increase system efficiency.
Installation Information
Electric underfloor heating should be installed in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, with all electrical connections completed by a suitably qualified electrician.
