How Does Paint-On Tanking Work?

The liquid tanking is applied over the prepared and primed substrate in two coats, with joint tape, corners and pipe collars used to reinforce vulnerable areas. Once dry, it forms a continuous flexible waterproof membrane ready for tiling.

Paint-On Tanking FAQs

Do I need to tank a wetroom before tiling?

Yes. Wetroom walls and floors within the wet area should be correctly waterproofed before tiling to protect the underlying structure from water ingress.

How long before I can tile over the tanking?

Allow the tanking system to dry for at least 24 hours before tiling.

 

Can I use the tanking system with underfloor heating?

Yes. The Innovations Tanking System is compatible with underfloor heating.

​

Can I buy the tanking components separately?

Yes. Tanking liquid, joint tape, corners, pipe collars, primer and other components are available separately.
