How to make a wetroom with our simple kits

FIRST – Choose your deck/floor former

  • For a fast 1 hour installation, Maxxus is the strongest available. Very simple for beginners, minimal skill needed. 9 sizes. Simply screw around the perimeter.
  • Foam Underlay e.g. Marmox / PCS is our best-selling budget-priced product. Requires under-boarding. Over 18 sizes. Made to measure sizes available. Bonds down with tile adhesive.

Note: When choosing consider how the floor can be levelled to the top of the former or underlay.

Note: All our wet decks/floor formers may be cut, reduced in size or notched out. Click through to the kit details for standard sizes and drain positions.

SECOND – Select your membrane/tanking.

Tanking paste is applied in one coat which dries in 3–4 hours, followed by a second coat in a 90° direction and left to dry overnight as a flexible membrane.

If the walls have been stripped back to masonry/exposed studding or are in poor condition do not apply plasterboard, but simply clad with tile backer board (TBB). TBB is also used to clad existing walls or floors where a superior finish is required.

All the above are compatible with electric UFH cables of any make. We recommend using high quality UFH heating for use under expensive tiling.

Now commence tiling.

FINALLY – Select and fit a BETA frameless screen.
